Matthew 5:41 (KJV)… "And whosoever shall COMPEL thee to go a mile-go with him TWAIN!"

'Whosoever' - this is not limited to just ONE person - ANYONE!

'Twain' - not only DOING what you should - BEING what what you should!

“CHRISTIANITY” (Following JESUS) is a Second Mile RELIGION!

-Jesus REQUIRES you and I to LIVE in the 2nd Mile!

-Are you willing to go the Second Mile?

-Are you traveling the Second Mile - or are you the CAUSE of someone else traveling the Second Mile?

THE SECOND MILE NEVER ENDS!

-HOW... Do we know this?

-The Bible never introduces a THIRD MILE!

GATHER/GROW/GIVE/GO...

-All IDEAS are IDEAS that embody RISK / ONE MORE DEGREE / ONE MORE MILE!

What you need to know is this...

God gives Eternal Choices and they have Eternal Consequences! (GOOD & BAD!)

In the Bible...

-The SHEEP was lost INNOCENTLY!

-The COIN was lost IRRESPONSIBLY!

(However...)

-The PRODIGAL SON left INTENTIONALLY!

(The FATHER gave him the CHOICE!)

The next time you think that LIFE IS NOT FAIR - remember you've been given a CHOICE!

Know this...

The scales of LIFE were forever tipped on the side of FAIRNESS when God planted a TREE in the Garden of Eden! Every CHOICE you make - MATTERS!

NO GIFT IS GREATER THAN FREE CHOICE!

Not only does the PRIVILEGE offset any INJUSTICE – the Gift of FREE WILL can offset any MISTAKE!

Ps 46:10... 'BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD"

-The Command... Be Still

-The Promise... You Will Know That He Is God!

In the midst of your STORMS - let God be God!

Be Still!

Be Quiet!

Be Open & Willing!

Then you know that He is God!

When it comes to YOU & GOD...

Family Focus... (I am THANKFUL!)

Thanksgiving was GREAT! Here's a few reasons I am THANKFUL...!

This past week we had our Annual Staff Planning @ COC! LOTS of busy work and plenty of FUN! This is a GREAT group of people and I am BLESSED to call them my friends! Thoughts I'd share a memorable moment from one of the evenings!

Pretty STOKED about 2011 - lots of exciting IDEAS in store for Series and not to mention a small little 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION for the COC! WOW!! Where did yesterday go! You don't wanna miss 2011 at the COC - it's gonna ROCK!!

No person – apart from Jesus Himself – shaped the history of Christianity like the APOSTLE PAUL!

LESSONS FROM THE 2X4...

I once heard a story of an old farmer who claimed that he could command his mule with nothing more than a few soft words - no whips or prods necessary! She would respond - he claimed - with nothing more than gently spoken commands! So his buddy - down at the feed store - asked for a demonstration one day… “Prove to me that your old mule will respond with nothing more than gentle language!”

 So… out to the field they went - the farmer, his buddy and the mule! As the friend watched - first in awe and then in horror - the farmer took a huge piece of lumber - a 2X4 – about 4 feet in length - and swung it with all his might -- hitting the mule on one side of the head! When the animal stopped braying and bellowing and prancing around - the farmer simply said something quietly… “COME HERE” and the mule came! “SIT” and the whimpering creature sat! “BACK UP” and she backed into the harnesses of a waiting plow and waited calmly for him to hook up! ‘You see?’ the farmer replied - ‘She’ll respond to a simple voice command!” But his friend objected… “What are you talking about? You said all you had to do was talk to her - but you hit her with this huge 2X4! What do you mean - you just command her with words! That’s not what I saw!”

 “Oh, that!” said the farmer... “WELL… I FIRST HAVE TO GET HER ATTENTION!!”
